New Beautiful Pumpkins

Hello, hello!  What do you think?  Are you ready for fall?  The children have been back at school for two weeks already in our area. It's gotten a little cooler lately (only in the 70's and 80's instead of the high 90's).  So, I'm declaring that fall is here and it's time for pumpkins!  Yay!!  I love this time of year and I'm always ready to jump into new autumn ideas.  Are you ready to join me?  Just a few more days and you'll be able to see the new batch of Online Exclusive items that will span autumn/Halloween through Christmas/winter and everything in between.  How exciting!  As a demonstrator I was able to see and purchase these offerings early and I've been having fun with the new Beautiful Pumpkins set.  Let's jump right in to see what I made first.

When I was creating with the Prairie Grass stamp set recently, I stamped an extra couple of Basic White cardstock pieces with the tall grasses.  I just love the look of them, so I figured it would be interesting to see what I could use with them.  Enter the new Beautiful Pumpkins set.  Don't them work nicely together?  Just a reminder - if you're looking for either the Prairie Grass or the Beautiful Pumpkins sets in the catalog; you won't find them there.  Only in the Online Exclusive section!!

The Basic White cardstock is 5" x 3 3/4" with the grasses stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink to the left side.  Old Olive ink was added with a Blending Brush to the bottom third of the cardstock.  Pool Party was added with the Blending Brush to the upper 2/3 section with blending in the middle.  I chose Pool Party for the sky area because Pumpkin Pie is opposite the color wheel and a great contrast.

This layer was attached to a Basic Black layer that measures 5 1/8" x 3 7/8".  This gives just a tiny black outline to define the design layer.  Then this was attached to the folded Pumpkin Pie card base using adhesive to keep the card thinner for mailing.

Now we start in on those pumpkins.  This is a two-step stamp.  That means the stamps will add all the detail for you with the successive layers of stamping.  For myself, I think the pumpkins were easier to stamp with the darker detail layer first and then stamp the more solid lighter area last.  For the two darker pumpkins, I stamped the detail with Cajun Craze ink and then the Pumpkin Pie solid stamp over this.  For the lighter pumpkin, Timid Tiger ink was stamped with the detail first and Pumpkin Pie solid over this.  Because I stamped these onto Basic White cardstock, the highlight detail seemed too white, so I used a Water Brush and lightly moved the ink into the white areas leaving a soft peach tone instead.

The stems were stamped with Pecan Pie ink.  Then both the stems and pumpkins were die-cut with the matching dies in the bundle.

There are several die options for leaves available in the bundle.  I used the three smaller leaves for this card.  They are all cut from Old Olive cardstock.  Then the pumpkins, stems, and leaves were all arranged at the bottom of the design layer.  One pumpkin was attached flat, with the other two popped up on Dimensionals and the leaves tucked in around them.

The next step is finding a sentiment that worked for the card.  The Wonderful Thoughts stamp set has a nice small sentiment that worked nicely here.  It's stamped onto a Basic White strip that's just a touch wider than 1/2".  I used Memento Tuxedo Back ink to stamp it.  The ends were angle cut to give it some extra interest.  There was a 1/4" strip of Basic Black on my desk and I liked the look of just a small amount showing at the bottom edge.  I taped them together then trimmed the ends to match the label.  This was attached to the card front with Dimensionals.

The last step was finding the perfect bit of bling for the card.  I've been watching a good number of butterflies in our yard this year, so that's what I tried for this card.  I think the butterflies added a nice, understated look here.

And that's it for the first 'test-drive' of the new Beautiful Pumpkins bundle that will be available in September in the Online Exclusive section of the Stampin'Up! store.  Make sure you take the time to check this out and all the other fabulous new items available there.  I think some of their very finest products are to be found in the Online Exclusive section!

Thank you for dropping in today.  Hope you like this look at one of the newest offerings by Stampin'Up!.  It was fun creating and should put a smile on someone's face.

Happy stamping and creating,

Another Impressions Abloom Card

Hello friends!  I've got a lovely, bright card idea for you today.  I wanted to use the Beautiful Bokeh Designer Series Paper, so that was my starting point for the card.  For some reason the Impressions Abloom stamp set keeps handing around my worktable, so I thought it would be a good match for those gorgeous DSP bokeh prints.  And I had seen a card design by Tami Hewlett using the Everyday Arches die that really pulled all these ideas together.  Thank you, Tami, for inspiring me!

The mottled background on the arch is the basis of the flower colors I used, and they complement each other so nicely.   Like I said, the first step for this card was choosing which print to use.  This one is a blend of Calypso Coral and Fresh Freesia.  I used the Everyday Arches die to cut the DSP.  Next the choice for a card base was made for Basic White.  This let the other colors be the main focus.

Instead of just placing this on the card front, a layer of Basic White was cut to measure 5 1/4" x 4".  This layer was embossed with the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder to give it lots of interest and texture.  This layer was attached to the card base with "green glue".  The DSP arch was then attached to this layer with the "green glue" also.
Now for the focal point of the card.  Using the Impressions Abloom stamp set, I started stamping the large flower using the detail stamp and full-strength Calypso Coral ink onto Basic White cardstock.  Since I was stamping anyway, I stamped a few extra for future projects.  Next, the solid stamp for this flower was inked with Calypso Coral ink, off-stamped, and then stamped over the detail image I had already stamped.  This is easy to line up because there is one petal that is longer than the rest.  I love the two-tone look on the flower from having the solid image stamp much lighter.

Next the daisy style flowers were stamped in the same fashion with the detail being full-strength and the solid background being off-stamped.  These were stamped with Fresh Freesia ink.

The centers of the flowers were stamped a little different.  The solid stamps were inked with Lemon Lolly ink and stamped inside each flower.  Then the detail stamp was stamped over this using Crushed Curry ink.

The leaves were stamped with just the detail stamp.  For the best color choice, I checked the Color Coach for inspiration.  I made some of these Coastal Cabana to be light and fresh, and others were stamped with Lost Lagoon.  After all the pieces were stamped, they were die-cut with the coordinating dies.  When finished, there was a whole bouquet of flowers to play with.  I loved the combination of all these colors together and dove right in.

When arranging the placement of the flowers, I realized there needed to be a contrast between the background and flowers.  Two Basic White leafy stems were die-cut using the Textured Floral dies.  These were nice and airy and fit the design well.

First the white stems were attached with adhesive.  Then the flowers were added with Dimensionals.  Lastly, the leaves were tucked in around the design using Mini Glue Dots.

The sentiment is from the Wonderful Thoughts stamp set.  It's stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the white strip about 5/8" wide.  This was trimmed and tucked in among the design.

For the final touch, three of the Iridescent Foil Gems were added for a little sparkle.

I don't know about you, but I'm just thrilled with the way this card idea turned out.  It's so vibrant and fresh looking to me.  It's a little out of my comfort zone, because you know I love pastels.  But I'm very happy with it.  If you want to give this one a try, the design wasn't hard to make at all.  If these aren't your favorite colors, go through the Beautiful Bokeh DSP prints and find one to inspire you.  I'd love to hear what you make with this design as a starting place.   There are so many possibilities to try.

Happy stamping and creating,
Sharon

Storybook Moments Trio

Hello my friends.  I've been happily crafting with the designer paper as the focal point of the cards.  It's been fun and very relaxing to take a break from fun folds and themed cards.  I had gotten the new Storybook Moments Designer Series Paper but hadn't found the time to play around with it.  I figured it was time and just played for most of two days (in between organizing my stamp room).  These are simple cards with mostly just cardstock, ink, and paper without a lot of fuss and bother.  Hope you enjoy these simple and quick cards.

First card up is so sweet and reminds me of my storybooks when I was young.  Yup, way back in the dark ages! I kept the colors warm and soft to create the cozy feel of cuddling up and being read a Beatrix Potter book at bedtime.

I started by choosing the DSP print with all the adorable cottages.  It's trimmed to 5" x 4".  About 1/4" is ripped from the right edge.  Then that edge is distressed and curled to look old and well-used.

Next was a layer of Pecan Pie.  This was cut to 5 3/16" x 4 1/4".  This was also ripped about 1/4" from the right edge and distressed to fit nicely under the print.

Basic Beige cardstock was cut to be the card base and measures 8 1/2" x 5 1/2".  It seemed like it needed another layer on the design, so a layer of Crumb Cake was added between the Basic Beige and Pecan Pie layers.  This wasn't ripped or distressed.  Using adhesive, each of these layers is attached to the one behind it.

The little mouse was an image from another print from this Storybook Moments DSP pack.  Isn't he adorable?  He was fussy cut from the paper and added to this friendly neighborhood.  He's been popped up with Dimensionals.

The flowering plant was another image that this design needed to round out the design.  It's also fussy cut and added close to the mouse.

The sentiment is from the Wonderful Thoughts stamp set.  It's stamped with Pecan Pie ink onto a Basic Beige 1/4" strip of cardstock.  The right edge was flagged and tucked in under the mouse.  It needed some extra color, so it was pulled out and a Blending Brush added a little Pecan Pie ink on the edges.  It's tucked back in and secured with a couple Mini Dimensionals.

A length of the Wild Wheat Rustic Ribbon was wrapped around the card front on the left side.  This was tied into a knot.  I liked the look of the ribbon along with all the other earthy colors on the card.  Lastly, three tiny Brass Butterflies were added flitting around the neighborhood.  One card design down, on to the next design.

This card seems to throw off a totally different vibe for me.  I can just see this little bunny boy saying "Hey, look at me!  I just found this huge radish!  It must be the biggest in the whole world!"  And of course, he needed a picture taken to record this trophy, so we have it in a frame to display it.

The frame is one of three in the Storybook Friends Bundle.  This is die-cut from Old Olive cardstock.  The bunny was cut from the DSP print with just enough excess to attach to the back of the frame with adhesive.  There's also a small plant and a small mound of blue flowers that were cut out and attached to the bottom corner of the frame with adhesive to decorate it.

The base is Old Olive cardstock that measures 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" and is scored and folded in half.  A blue & green plaid from the Timeless Plaid DSP was chosen for layering on the card.  It needed a little extra definition between the Old Olive and the print.  A piece of Boho Blue cardstock was attached behind the plaid.

Some of the Wild Wheat Rustic Ribbon was wrapped around the two layers and tied in a knot.  This was attached to the card base using Dimensionals.

The sentiment is from the Storybook Friends set.  It's stamped on a Basic Beige cardstock strip about 5/8" wide using Boho Blue ink.  The left end of the tag is flagged then attached to the right edge of the card using Dimensionals.

The framed bunny is the last addition to the card.  He's attached with Dimensionals to make sure he's the focal point of the whole card.  If you are looking for a new baby boy card, wouldn't this one be perfect with just a small change of the sentiment?

That's two down and only one more to go.

This last one is super simple because it is totally the DSP doing all the work.  There's no extra die-cuts or anything.  There is a sheet of the DSP prints that is laid out in blocks of different prints.  These can be cut and used separately, or you can forget about this side entirely and just use the all-over green print on the back which is quite nice.  I kind of like these type of print blocks.  They're usually a bit of a challenge to me to use them on cards.  For this card, I used two of the blocks.

I love the strawberry print as a stand-alone but then couldn't decide what I wanted to use with it. I found a cute little kitten carrying a plate with one large strawberry on it that worked with the strawberries.  The frame was a nice way to add her to the design.

The base is a 11" x 4 1/4" piece of Old Olive cardstock that's scored and folded in half.  To frame the strawberry print, a piece of Moody Mauve was used.  This measures 5 1/2" x 2 3/8".  The strawberry print was attached to this with adhesive, then it's attached to the side of the Old Olive card base.

The little kitten was fussy cut then she's popped up on the Old Olive frame block. The frame is attached to the right side of the card front using Dimensionals.  To give the DSP paper some rigidity, I cut a piece of Basic Beige cardstock a little smaller to attach behind the frame.

For the embellishment on this design, I used three of the Iridescent Foil Gems.  The kitten needed some glitz, but not too much.  With the iridescent glitter in the gems, there are times you get a flash of pinky-purple that enhances the Moody Mauve layer.

I haven't added sentiments to the inside of any of these three cards yet.  They can be used for many different occasions.  On this last card, I played around with the inside just a little though and like how it turned out.  These little strawberry and flower sections were from the piece I trimmed off to fit my card.  They were fussy cut and added to the corners for fun.  Even if it's just a tiny bit of DSP that you've had to cut off, you might still be able to use it in your design.

Well, I don't know about you, but I had fun playing with this pack of DSP.  I really need to do more of a deep dive into the stamp set too.  I wasn't sure about this set when I first saw it.  It gave me the warm-fuzzies because of childhood memories, but could I use it now.  The answer is turning out to be yes, I can.  And now I need to get going and stamp some more.

Thanks for stopping by today.  As usual, it's appreciated that you spend time here.  Why not leave me a comment so I know who's been here?

Don't forget, there's only 8 more days left to take advantage of all the free items available during Sale-a-bration.  After February 28th it will be no more.  This is always one of my favorite times of the year.  It's so fun to get something free, right!?  Take advantage of this sale while you can.  If you have questions, feel free to contact me through my email - sharoncarr50@gmail.com.

Use Up Those Bits and Pieces

Hello again.  I mentioned yesterday at the end of the post that I'd share the card made from the leftover pieces that were die-cut to make the card for that day.  I made a quick card that uses those bits as promised and I added a few more bits and pieces that I had sitting around.  Let's get creative.

This card is all based on the two pieces of the Delightful Floral Designer Series Paper that was the focus on yesterday's design.  They were originally cut out with the 2nd largest rectangular die from the Nested Essentials Die set.

To match the DSP, I chose to base my card on a piece of Fresh Freesia cardstock to pull out that color from the DSP.  There is a Basic White layer that measures 5 1/4" x 4".  To add interest, this piece was embossed with the new Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder.  Seems like I tend to grab this one whenever I want an embossed layer lately.  It's just such a pretty pattern to tuck behind your designs.  After embossing, it was attached to the card base with "green glue".

After playing around with the two pieces trying to place them this way and that, I decided it needed another piece of DSP in the mix to balance the design.  There was another piece of the same DSP but in a Fresh Freesia shade that was perfect.  It measures 4" x 1 1/2".  This is attached down the center of the card front using adhesive.

The two rectangular pieces of DSP were staggered on the front and attached with adhesive also.

The sentiment was a little tricky.   I wanted something that fit the design and wasn't too big.  I loved the size of this little sentiment.  And it fit right onto this interesting sort of rectangle.  Both the sentiment and die are from the Wonderful Thoughts Bundle.  Perfect.  The sentiment was stamped with Pretty Peacock ink in the center.  Then it was added to the design using two Dimensionals to attach it.

There were two butterflies cut from Fresh Freesia cardstock using the Meadow Dies.  These are attached with a Mini Dimensional under the body part of each butterfly.

For a little bling on the card, I used three of the Purple Fine Shimmer Gems in the berry color.  Two of the smaller gems are attached to the bodies of the butterflies.  The larger gem is attached at the bottom of the design.

That's it for this design using up the leftovers from other card designs.  I know you all have those bits that are too good to throw away, but if not used they start piling up to a formidable stack.  Don't forget to through them every once in a while, and then play around creating with these odd bits and pieces.  It can be a lot of fun and you never know what fabulous design you'll create!

Country Flowers with New In Colors

Hello there.  Today's card is all about the new colors available in the new catalog.  I can hardly wait for tomorrow so I can place an order for some stamps that demonstrators could Not order yet.  How exciting!  I totally love the new In Colors this time around - Peach Pie, Pretty in Pink, Petunia Pop, Summer Splash, and Shy Shamrock.  They are all lovely and it was hard to decide what to create with first.  One of the items we could order is the Unbounded Beauty Designer Series Paper.  Just gorgeous!  So I picked a design I loved from the DSP and built my card around it.

Aren't these new colors just fabulous?  I couldn't wait to get creative with them.  This is the first card using these new colors, but it certainly won't be the last one.

Start with the new Petunia Pop for the card base.  It measures 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" and is scored at 4 1/4" and folded in half.  The Basic White layer really makes the DSP pop.  It measures 5 1/4" x 4" with the DSP layer measuring 5 1/8" x 3 7/8".  They're attached together with adhesive.

Before attaching this to the card front, a 6-7" piece of the new Summer Splash 3/8" Bordered Ribbon is wrapped around the front and attached with adhesive to the back.  The placement of the ribbon is about 1/3 from the left edge.  This is all attached to the card base using Dimensionals.

The Basic White background label is cut with the Thoughtful Expressions die set.  There is a Summer Splash background added using a Blending Brush and lightly adding color to the center of the label.

The images are from the new Country Flowers Bundle.  To keep the colors softer, both the teapot and the flower images were stamped with Smoky Slate ink.  Stampin' Blends are used to color the images - Smoky Slate Light & Dark for the teapot, Summer Splash Light & Dark for the leaves, Petunia Pop for the tiny flowers.  The roses were a little trickier for me.  I wanted to color them with Pretty in Pink because there were small splotches of the color on the DSP.  But when I did, overall it didn't work out.  So over the pink, I added first Bubble Bath Blends, then very light touches of the Petunia Pop Light Blends.  It's amazing to me that I could layer up color on top of color and the cardstock didn't get messed up with all the coloring.  When I do this again, I might start with Bubble Bath and add the Petunia Pop to that and save myself from all the mixing of color layers.

Both the teapot and florals were die cut using the matching dies then added to the white layer with  Dimensionals.  Dimensionals were also used to attach the white layer over the ribbon and DSP.

Lastly, I wanted to add a sentiment.  This one is from the Wonderful Thoughts stamp set.  It's stamped with Petunia Pop ink onto Basic White cardstock.  It's die-cut with the matching dies.  To attach this to the card, the right side has a Dimensionals under it and the left side has a bit of adhesive.  This helps it lay flat on the card.

The last little bit needed to finish the card is the embellishments.  What would a card be without a touch of bling to make it happy.    These pinkish sequins are from the Adhesive-backed Sequins Trio.  With the iridescent finish on these they blend so well with multiple shades of pink.  I'm so happy they are carrying over to the new catalog.  They are one of my favorite embellishments.

I just wanted to share one more picture showing off these gorgeous new colors.  You'll probably get sick seeing these colors on my blog so often.  I'll make sure I play with all my other colors too.  Don't want them to feel abandoned!  LOL

Tomorrow, May 1st is the big day for being able to order from the new catalog.  Are you ready?  If you need any help with anything, please reach out to me.  I'm here to help.

Happy stamping and creating,

Something New for You

Hello Friends!  Hope you're all doing well today on the 3rd of July.  Probably in the middle of celebrating the birth of our country or getting ready to do that tomorrow.  I had planned on sticking with the Inked & Tiled set for a while, until I was wandering around YouTube yesterday morning.  I found a new video by Tina Zinck that just put me in a creative mood.  She makes some of the most gorgeous backgrounds on her cards and truly inspires me.  It's so funny - after watching the video, I went downstairs and did my version of recreating her cards.  I came back upstairs after I was done and had to laugh at myself.  I stopped when I liked the look of the cards, but totally forgot to make about half of the stamped layering that Ms. Zinck added to make her cards so fabulous.  So, I guess you're getting my very pared down version of her cards.  I thought my cards were fine until I checked back on the video.  Whew, what a huge difference! If you want to see what truly inspired me, here's the link:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYe3u6rlR4o  You'll see what I mean about pared down if you check her video out.  😁

What really attracted me to her cards was her technique of using ink and Blending Brushes to color a full sheet of Basic White cardstock.  So that was the part I focused on.  These are the four cards that I made out of that one piece of cardstock.  If you want to make this, start with these colors: Lemon Lime Twist, Coastal Cabana, Flirty Flamingo, and Azure Afternoon.  These are in the Brights color category.  Blend on the colors in that order so you're going pretty much light to dark.  You want all of the white to be covered with color.  Make sure you tap or brush off before going to the paper so there aren't large dark splotches.  Even with doing that, I still had some rather dark areas of Azure Afternoon on my cards.

The layering cardstock on these cards are the same as the background ink colors.  My favorite of all the cards is the one with the Flirty Flamingo layer.  Not sure why I like it the best, but I do so that's the one I have extra pictures of here.  Please remember that all of the cards are basically the same.  They are just layered on different colors of cardstock, so they seem to look quite a bit different.

After adding on the colors with Blending Brushes, the full piece of Basic White cardstock was cut down to four pieces that measure 5" x 3 3/4".  At this time, all the stamping was done on the individual pieces.  I didn't have the foliage set that she used, so I improvised with what I do have.  I used Lighting the Way (page 24) for the taller greenery stems.  These were stamped on with Shaded Spruce ink.  The bushier branch is from the Botanical Layers (page 107).  It's stamped with Old Olive ink.  This one looked way too heavy, so I off-stamped before adding to the card.  As you can see, 2nd and 3rd generation stamping were added to fill in a little.

I thought it would be fun to add the little lightening bug to the cards.  They were stamped with Basic Gray to be not quite as dark as black.  The little 'light' was stamped with Lemon Lolly ink.  I remembered I had some watercolor Pearl Ex from ages ago.  This was added over the 'light' to make it shine brighter.

I couldn't find the exact sentiment I wanted to use, so I stamped the 'hello' from the Wonderful Thoughts set (page 41), and the 'friend' from a sentiment in the Inked & Tiled set (page 95).  Basic Gray ink was used to stamp these, then they were snipped out close to the sentiment to add to the cards.  Since the 'hello' was on such an angle, I just followed that when cutting.

When adding the sentiments to the cards, some pieces were attached flat with adhesive, and some were attached with Dimensionals to give the card some additional interest.  Each card was handled differently in this aspect and also the placement of the sentiments.

For the last bit of finish on my cards, the pretty Iridescent Rhinestones were added.  I love these for the sparkle effect they give, and also the fact they seem to match just about anything!

Now that my cards are finished and I checked back to see what Tina did, I wish I had paid more attention to her cards.  For a collage look, all the added stamping and embossing on her cards are perfection.  I just might need to go back and make another set of cards following her directions better.  😁

Thank you for spending some of your time with me today.  I hope you like this technique of making your own backgrounds.  And also my pared down version of Tina Zinck's cards.  They were so fun to create.  Can you just imagine this technique used with some colors for fall?  Oh yes, this is something I don't want to forget about!

Happy 4th of July!!

Happy stamping and creating!

Back to Daisies

Hello Friends!  We've been having rain off and on again lately, so I was looking for an idea that was bright and cheery looking.  I thought making the daisies in yellows would look about as cheerful as I could get.  So that was my idea when I started this card.  Then things changed a bit, as usual.  Still have daisies and still have yellow, but that's about the only part that is the same as my original idea.  Oh well, necessity is the mother of invention they say.  So, what would you call the mother of creativity?  Not having it look right and starting over from scratch??  Yep, that's my idea.  Hopefully you'll like what came out of a mish-mash of ideas and changes.

Here it is.  Isn't this nice and summery and oh, so cheerful looking?  Definitely bright. Let's start with the daisies, because that was the beginning of the whole card.

The Cheerful Daisies stamp and die bundle is so very easy to work with.  For this card, all three layers of these daisies are die-cut.  The bottom layer is the three daisies that die-cut together and was cut from Daffodil Delight cardstock.  The top detail layer of each flower was die-cut from the new Lemon Lolly cardstock.  I originally was planning on using only the two yellow layers together, but it looked kind of blah.  I liked the white layer peeking out between the other two layers, so the detail layer was cut again using Basic White.  The white contrast really seemed to brighten the look.  While attaching these layers together with 'green glue', make sure that the layers are slightly twisted so that you can see all the colors together.

The flower centers were inked with Daffodil Delight ink, rolled a little on one side in Crushed Curry ink, then stamped onto Basic White cardstock.  The leaves were stamped with Parakeet Party ink on Basic White cardstock.  The leaves were all off-stamped before stamping to keep the color light and bright.  Six of the leaves were stamped, then the leaves and the flower centers were all die-cut with coordinating dies.

Switching gears here, I thought that a white and navy design would offset the daisy colors.  I just received the Countryside Corners stamp and die bundle that I really wanted to try out.  It is just one stamp that has six concentric octagons that stamp all together.  Then there are dies that let you cut those designs into multiple frames.  You can die cut each one separately, or cut them in chunks where 2, 3, or more frames are left together to form a sort of bull's eye effect.  I stamped it in Night of Navy ink onto Basic White cardstock.  I used the second and third dies from the center to cut the dotty frame.  I used the fourth from the center die to cut a Night of Navy piece to frame the white.  Then used the fourth and fifth from the center to cut the stitched white frame.

I cut another piece of white cardstock that used the third from center die.  The sentiment from the Wonderful Thoughts stamp set was stamped on this using Night of Navy ink.  There are still a few pieces of frames left over for another project.  This was much easier to use than I thought.  An important tip when cutting multiple frames together is to use washi tape to hold the pieces place so they don't shift during the cutting process.  This made them very easy to cut either one or the whole batch at the same time.

At this point, I still thought the card base would be white.  But the more I played around with all the different layers, I changed my mind.  I still kept the card base as Basic White cardstock that measures 8 1/2" x 5 1/2".  But I added a Parakeet Party layer next instead.  This is cut so there's only a tiny frame of white behind it.  It measures 5 3/8" x 4 1/8".  Before adding it to the card base, it was run through the Basic 3D Embossing Folder using the cross-hatch design.  This is one of those great Online Exclusive items that has quickly become of basic staple in my stamp room.

To finish the card, the Parakeet Party layer was attached to the Basic White card base using 'green glue'.  The octagon pieces were all layered together as shown and attached with 'green glue'.  Lastly, the daisies were attached to the corner of the framing.  They were also attached with 'green glue' except for the flower centers which were attached with one Dimensional in the center of each.

The clear Rhinestone Basic Jewels were scattered across the card front for some sparkle.

That's it for my post today.  I hope it didn't totally confuse you with the Countryside Corners Bundle.  It's really kind of cool to work with and I'll have to revisit that soon.  More to come on that idea.  Have fun with your stamping and don't fret when some project doesn't work out the way you envisioned it.  It's just a chance to spread those 'creativity wings' and try something a little different.  Thanks for stopping by today.

Happy stamping and creating,
Sharon
